DEM Survey Properties Dialog
TheDEM Survey Properties
dialog has three primary functions:- Load topographic surveys into your
*.gcd
Project - Associate various surfaces and datasets with those surveys (e.g. inputs into an FIS)
- Produces various elevation uncertainty models (error surfaces) of your survey
These three functions are organized onto three different tabs of the DEM Survey Properties
dialog (DEM Survey
tab, Associated Surfaces
tab, and the Error Calculations
tab):
Adding DEM to Survey Library & Associated Surfaces Tab
The survey library is the main interface for a user to add data to a project in GCD. Users load DEM to the survey library and once loaded can access the associated surfaces and error calculations tabs through the survey library.Associated surfaces are rasters that represent additional information about your survey. They are used in the calculation of error rasters. Common associated surfaces are slope, surface roughness, or point density. Each associated surface is represented as a single raster dataset.
Creating a project and loading a DEM are covered in the video below.
GCD Orthogonality/Concurrency Fix
Note, if your rasters do not meet the GCD's dimensional divisibility and orthognality criteria, your raster will be corrected for divisibility and orthogonality while loading your DEM to a GCD project or through the Clean Raster Tool.
