Idaho Power Company (IPC) regularly resurveys specific reaches with MBES. This section covers only the essential parts of the workflow recommended to IPC by ET_AL for performing geomorphic change detection of repeat MBES surveys. The recommendations presented here are likely largely applicable to other practitioners and researchers collecting MBES data in fluvial environments, but are made specifically for IPC.
In essence, there are two parts to the workflow:
During the initial project setup tasks a number of basic project setup, file management and standards are set for consistency throughout. During the recurring survey analysis tasks, raw data is converted into DEMs and useful derivative products to facilitate geomorphic change detection.
